The USB-EDID-PRO2 can be used to read the EDID from any VGA, DVI or HDMI monitor, or similar device. Using free Hall Technologies Windows™ software, you will be able to read, save, and even modify the EDID of any display. You can also use it to program EDID into Hall Technologies VGA EDID Emulator (EM-EDID-HD15). No power supply is needed when connected to USB port of PC. Can be used as DVI buffer/extender and EDID Emulator.The kit includes an , and two adapters, one for converting the DVI to HDMI and one for converting DVI to VGA. Cable to display is not included, but a USB cable is included along with a power supply in case the product will be used as a DVI buffer/extender with EDID management.Using free Hall Technologies Windows™ software, you will be able to read and save EDID data from any display. Edit the EDIDs using 3 party free software available in the Additional Downloads. Note that not all EDID's are programmable through the Video connector. You will be able to read the EDID from virtually any device, but most likely the EDID of HDMI sinks (displays) may be write-protected. Most VGA EDID's are writable, but you have to be very careful since you will be erasing the EDID that is present in the sink device. Always save a copy of the original before writing a new EDID to the sink device.
